Biography

Kangana Ranaut is an Indian actress born on 23 March 1987 in Bhambla, Himachal Pradesh. Her full name is Kangna Amardeep Ranaut.She did her modeling at the Elite Modelling Agency. Later she joined the Asmita Theatre Group and was trained under the theatre director Arvind Gaur. She struggled to get films and she did her debut in 2006 in Anurag Basu's directorial Gangster. Her performance was loved by the audience and she won the Filmfare Award for Best Female Debut. Her best performance was in the movie Queen where she won both the Filmfare Award and the National Film Award for Best Actress for it. Later she got many films acted in the films like Woh Lamhe, Shootout at Wadala, Dhaam Dhoom, Raaz: The Mystery Continues, Kites, Rangoon, Ungli, Tanu weds Manu, and many more. She was awarded a fourth Best Actress Award for Manikarnika: The Queen of Jhansi. She has also acted in the biopic Thalaivii. It is the biopic of politician J. Jayalalithaa. She has also was honored with the Padma Shri from President Ram Nath Kovind in 2020. Recently she was seen in Dhaakad and hosted a show called Lock Upp. She will next portray Emergency and the Hindu goddess Sita in Alaukik Desai's The Incarnation: Sita.
