Biography

Shahid Kapoor was born to Pankaj Kapur and Neelima Azeem on 25 February 1981 in New Delhi. His parents got separated and he lived with his mother. He got married to Mira Rajput on 7 July 2015 and has 2 kids Misha and Zain. Shahid was interested in dance, so he joined Shiamak Davar's dance institute when he was 15 years old. He was a background dancer and also worked in film as a background dancer in the movies like Dil Toh Pagal Hain, and Taal. He has worked in advertisements like Kit Kat, Pepsi, etc. He was seen in a song called 'Aankhon Mein" and sung by Jai Walla, a music video by Aryan. He made his film debut in 2003 opposite Amruta Rao in Ishq Vishq's film. It is produced by Ramesh Taurani. He won the Filmfare Award for Best Male Debut. From 2004 –2006 he acted in the films like Fida, Dil Maange More, and Vaah! Life Ho Toh Aisi,Chup Chup Ke, 36 China Town.In 2007 he made the film Jab We Met opposite Kareena Kapoor which was a hit movie. He won the Filmfare Award for Best Actor and for Udta Punjab. He then was seen in Padmavat with Deepika Padukone Kapoor directed by Sanjay Leela Bhansali .and also in Romantic Drama Kabir Singh opposite Kiara Advani which is a remake of the Telugu film Arjun Reddy. He was recently seen in the Jersey remake of a Telugu movie with the same name. He has hosted many award shows. His upcoming projects are Bloody Daddy and in Farzi, a crime drama series from Raj & DK for Amazon Prime Video.
