Biography

Ajith Subramaniam was born on 1 May 1971.He began working on modeling assignments and was notably scouted by P. C. Sreeram during the making of a commercial for Hercules Cycle and Motor Company, who felt he had the appearance to become an actor. He first acted as a school child in En Veedu En Kana var in 1990. He was cast in the first lead role in the Telugu romantic drama Prema Pusthakam in 1993.He has worked with Simran, in the Vaali movie where he played a double role in the movie in 1999. He then appeared in the Kandukondain Kandukondain, directed by Rajiv Menon. The film featured Ajith alongside prominent actor Mammooty and actresses Aishwarya Rai, Tabu, and Srividya. His best movie till date is Mankatha, Billa, Villan, Veeram, Viswasam, Valimai, and many others.He has won many best actor Film fare awards. Ajith became a racing driver, competing in circuits around India in places such as Mumbai, Chennai, and Delhi. He is one among very few Indians to race in the International arena and in Formula championships. He got married to actress Shalini in April 2000 in Chennai. He has two children. He was recently seen in Thunivu which grossed 200 crores.
