Baby John film is directed by Atlee and s produced under Jio studios , Cine1 Studios and A for Apple Productions. The film was officially announced in July 2023 under the tentative title VD18, as it is Varun’s 18th film as the leading actor, and the official title was revealed in February 2024. The film’s plot is  DCP  Satya Verma IPS alias Baby John fakes his death and goes undercover to raise his daughter in peaceful environment in Kerala after a personal tragedy, but his past starts to catch up when his nemesis, Babbar Sher, a politician figures out he is alive.
