Vicky Kaushal was recently seen in Bad Newz with Tripti Dimri. It is directed by Anand Tiwari and produced by Dharma productions. It  was released on 19 July 2024 and  has grossed over ₹115.74 crore (US$14 million) worldwide against a production and marketing budget of ₹80 crores.

He will be next seen in historical drama film based on the life of Maratha emperor Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj. It is directed by Laxman Utekar. The film is titled as Chhaava

It also stars Rashmika Mandanna, Akshaye Khanna, Divya Dutta and many others in supporting roles. The soundtrack is composed by A.R Rahman.

Vicky is playing the role of Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj, Rashmika will be playing the role Yesubai Bhonsole, Akshaye as Arungazeb.

The filming begun in April 2023, Vicky resumed filming in Wai on 9 March and continued till 6 April. Principal photography wrapped in May 2024.

The film is scheduled to be theatrically released on 6 December 2024.
