Samanthaprabhu the versatile actress will be seen in the Shaakuntalam movie. The movie is a play written by Kalidasa and is one of the masterpieces of world literature. It is a thrilling love story of the exquisitely beautiful Shakuntala and the mighty King Dushyanta. Dushyanta is the hero of the play. He possesses almost all the qualities of a brave and noble-minded hero. Samantha will be playing the role of Shakuntala.

The movie is directed by Gunasekar and produced by Neelima Guna. The movie stars Dev Mohan who is playing the role of Dushanth, Sachin Khedekhar as Kanva Maharshi, Mohan Babu as Durvas Maharshi, and many others in supporting roles.
