Mani Ratnam’s movie Ponniyin Selvan: I stars Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Trisha Krishnan, Vikram, Prabhu Ganesan, Jayam Ravi, R.Sarathkumar, Karthi, Jayaram, Vijay Kumar in the import roles. The music is composed by A.R Rahman. Mani Ratnam produces it under Madras Talkies and Lyca Production. It is an action film which is based on Kalki Krishnamurthy’s novel Ponniyian Selvan.

The trailer of the movie was launched on September 06, 2022, in Chennai in the presence of Kamal Haasan, Rajinikanth, Mani Ratnam with wife Suhasini, Vikram, Trisha, Jayam Ravi, Karthi,  Aishwarya Rai,A R Rahman and many more celebrities attended the launch event.

Trisha and Aishwarya Rai were dressed in a traditional outfit.

Jayam Ravi, Karthi, and Vikram were also in traditional wear.

The first song Ratchasa Mamaney was launched. It is sung by Shreya Goshal and is released in Tamil, Malayalam, Hindi, Kannada, and Telugu.
