R Madhavan will be acting in a biological drama film Rocketry: The Nambi Effect which is based on a true event. It is based on the life of Nambi Narayana who is an Indian Aerospace Engineer who worked for ISRO. He has been awarded the Padma Bhushan and the 3rd highest civilian award by the Government of India in 2019. Madhavan who is a versatile actor who has acted in Tamil and Hindi films will be portraying the role of Nambi Narayana.

The film is produced by Sarita Madhavan, R.Madhavan, Varghese Moolan, and Vijay Moolan and is written and directed by Madhavan. The film will be released in Tamil, Hindi, and English and also be released in dubbed versions of Telugu, Malayalam, and Kannada languages.  The movie will be released on July 1st, 2022.

The film also stars Simran, Rajith Kapur, Gulshan Grover, Mohan Raman, and many more. Shah Rukh Khan will be a guest appearance in the Hindi and English version and Suriya will be a guest appearance in the Tamil version.  They both host a show interviewing Madhavan‘s character in the film’s Hindi version and Suriya plays the same role in the Telugu version.
