Jersey is a 2022 Indian Hindi-language sports drama film written and directed by Gowtam Tinnanuri. Shahid Kapoor finally hit the screens after two years with his much-awaited movie which also stars Mrunal Thakur and Pankaj Kapoor in crucial roles. The sports drama is the Bollywood remake of the National award-winning movie Jersey starring Nani in the lead. Jersey has been one of the best-awaited releases of the year, the film launched on April 22nd.

Shahid will be seen essaying the role of a failed cricketer who gets back to the field for his son. Mrunal Thakur is one of the most talented actresses in the Hindi industry. Mrunal has also worked with Shahid’s step-mother Supriya Pathak in Toofan. She added that Shahid’s family is ‘talented’ and said that everybody brings some x-factor to the table. She said she learned a lot working with each member of the family.

Mrunal’s acting has been appreciated, her decision to play the mother role to a seven-year aged in the film was actually thought to become a risky move by many. Mrunal stated that “There have been times when actors were cast for their ability to play a role, irrespective of their age. My choice to work in a movie has not been based on my character’s age. It is dependent on whether the script resonates with me, or how challenging it would be to play a much younger or older version of myself. It is how we perfect the mannerisms of a character that is nowhere near our actual age”.

Nani, the Telugu actor shares his views on the movie when he was asked whether shahid would be able to play the part as well as he did. He said”Hundred percent. I think he will do it better. He is a brilliant performer and can really get into the skin of the character.”

Mrunal meets Nani, she says he was so humble and such an absolute sweetheart.

Mrunal is all set to make her debut in the South with an upcoming film titled Sita Ramam opposite Dulquer Salmaan.
