The Kashmir Files is an Indian Hindi-language drama film directed by Vivek Agnihotri and produced by Abhishek Agarwal. The film stars Mithun Chakraborty, Anupam Kher, Darshan Kumar and Pallavi Joshi. The film tells  the story of the genocide of Kashmiri Hindus in the early 1990’s due to the Kashmir Insurgency. The film was  released on 11 March 2022.

'The Kashmir Files' to debut on OTT on May 13

The Kashmir Files is a heart wrenching story of the pain, suffering, struggle & trauma of Kashmiri Pandits, seen through the eyes of Krishna, the lead character. The film inquiries eye-opening truths concerning freedom, faith, national politics and humanity.

When it comes to the performances, Anupam Kher has acted phenomenal in the movie. The Four other characters that take an important role in Pushkar Nath Pandit’s and after that of his grandson Krishna’s (performed by Darshan Kumar) journey are actually taken through Mithun Chakraborty, Puneet Issar, Prakash Belawadi as well as Atul Srivastava.  Chakraborty’s performance in one confrontational sequence along with Krishna is actually a remarkable one.

Pallavi Joshi performed her role very well as Radhika, who is famous for her remarks against Indian politics and reciting anti-national slogans at the varsity.

Darshan plays his part effectively, yet it is actually the climax act where his performance definitely comes through,

Anupam thanks his audience for the support as the movie crosses 250 crores.

Darshan shares his experience,’The Kashmir Files’ is very close to my heart as it has been a career defining film for me. I am overjoyed that it has turned out to be one of the highest-grossing Bollywood films of the year.

The movie will  premiere on ZEE5 on 13 may. Adding to his statement, Anupam carried on “The movie acquired appreciation from all over the country and currently for those who could not see it on the big screen, The Kashmir Files’ will be available on ZEE5 across the world”.
