In the meanwhile the south Indian superstar while revealing his gratitude for getting the prominent award,wrote on twitter : “I totally thank central government and prime minister of India Sri Narendra Modi for providing me Dadasaheb Phalke Award, which is the highest honor in the Indian Movie Sector.”

He also added,” I also thank my producers, directors, distributors,technicians,theatre owners,media and the makkal (tamil people). I would like to dedicate my award to my fans all over the world.Also I would like to thank the chief minister of Tamilnadu Edappadi K Palaniswami and deputy chief minister Mr O Pannerselvam,my friend and opposition leader MK Stalin and other central and state leaders, my industry friend Kamal Hassan and other co-stars and all my well-wishers. Long live Tamil and may Tamilnadu prosper, Jai Hind!”
